For [Cloud] and [Dedicated] server customers, backup restoration can be done quickly and easily from your hosting control panel.
If you have a [Shared and Reseller hosting plan], please contact support for any restores.
Take a look at our website for [more information about our backups]. Alternatively, [read our blog post] which discusses our backup policy and how you can do your own testing of your backups.
Step 1
To restore files from cPanel you can use the "R1Soft Restore Backups" plugin found in your control panel under "Files":
Note: If you are logged in as a reseller or root user, the R1soft link may not work. Please login directly to cPanel using the account username and password.
Step 2
Once you click the link you'll be taken to the backup server and presented with a list of recovery points, by date:
To restore files, click the first icon, which resembles a file browser:
This will take you to a list of files and folders. Simply check the box of any file/folder you want to restore. To navigate into folders, click the folder name.
Step 3
You can now choose from several options:
- Restore selected: This restores the files as they were, back to their original locations.
- Download Selected: This allows you to download the files to your local machine, which is useful if you wish to inspect them before restoring them.
- Send selected to Agent: This will allow you to restore files to an alternate location.
Step 4
Follow the on-screen steps for each of these options to retrieve your files.
Please note: If you need to restore MySQL databases, the steps for this can be found in our other article here - How do I restore MySQL databases from cPanel? - Knowledgebase - Prostack
