2024 has been an exciting year for ProStack. In addition to our new backup service, and our Elevate upgrade project, today I’m thrilled to introduce our newest server platform, Cito.
Born as a CLI-based alternative to traditional hosting control panels, Cito has evolved based on feedback from our agency and e-commerce customers. While our users loved Cito’s speed and flexibility, they wanted the convenience of a web UI without sacrificing performance. We’ve delivered exactly that, with an initial focus on WordPress and PHP environments.
Feature Spotlight
The Cito platform has a number of innovative features:
-
- Streamlined site creation – A simplified site creation wizard for adding new sites, including an automatic installer for WordPress.
- Automatic preview URLs – Each site comes with a test domain, making it straightforward to test sites before they go live.
- One-click cloning – Any Cito PHP site can be copied in a single click, allowing you to move between staging and production with ease. For WordPress, we’ll even update your config file and any URLs in your database to match the new site.
- Built-in malware protection – Automatic malware scanning and alerting.
- Developer-friendly tools – Supporting features like git, wp-cli and more.
- WordPress version monitoring – We’ll flag if any of your WordPress sites are out of date.
We have a comprehensive roadmap of features in the works, including automatic full-page caching and support for additional platforms like Node.
Engineered with you in mind
After extensive testing with early users, Cito is now generally available at lower pricing compared to our cPanel or Windows plans.
